Camel Hair
Camel hair is taken from the two-humped Bactrian. The colour of camel is mostly golden with red to light brown tones. Camel hair is not too dissimilar from cashmere in that camels have a fine, soft undercoat, mixed with a straighter, much coarser outer coating of hair (guard hair). The finer hair can be blended with wool to create fabrics for clothing and the long, coarser hair, which is removed in a de-hairing process, is often turned into carpet backing and waterproof coats.
