Cad Modelling ERGONOMICS srl was set up as industrial modelling company in 1968, strong of its founder Silvio Quattrocolo experience. Today it’s the Italian best known company for
creating real anthropometric body models, leader for technologies, consultancies and solutions for the Textile, Apparel and ergonomic devices Industry.

Cad Modelling ERGONOMICS best known products are the Formax®, test dummies produced according to the Theory of Anthropometric Structures - developed by Silvio Quattrocolo -
created in order to guarantee each fit worldwide. Based on body identification surveys on world bases, Formax® are excellent fitting instruments, real anatomies which help the clothing and ergonomic industries achieving products fully tailored to the customer’s requirements.

Another primary role product is Body-ScanFit®, patented system composed of a revolutionary and unique portable body-scanner, validated by ENEA, a primary research institute in Italy. The system allows to scan any human body in few seconds, and classify it in the proper Morphological Family (also reproduced in Formax®) to transmit data to the product pipeline.

Since January 2005 Cad Modelling ERGONOMICS joined CEN (European Committee for Standards), as official Italian member of WG10 TC 248, working on prEN 13402-4 “ Size designation of clothes”.

The Company has been working with several Universities and Research Institutes and took part to several EU projects, such as MtoM3D (Made-to-Measure-garments, 2D/3D Approach), ISHTAR (Innovative Shops for the Textile and Apparel Industry) and BODYSCAN.

The Theory of Anthropometric Structures (Copyright © SIAE n° 9401846), by Silvio Quattrocolo –founder of the company-, identified 6 main body shapes for men and 8 for women. Ranges and anatomical averages are continuously monitored by Cad Modelling Ergonomics and products are updated following population anthropometric evolution.

To constantly update its anthropometric database, the company follows the development of technologies concerning human body measurements. Since the 80’s Cad Modelling Ergonomics is therefore also involved in body scanning with applications in Textile and Apparel Industry, Ergonomics and Medicine.

The company now offers also several consultative services for the Textile and Clothing industry, thus acting as the primary organization to help designers assure the right fit to their collections.

Cad Modelling Ergonomics developed a wide range of products and services based on its strong know-how in anthropometry. MADE IN ITALY, and protected by international patents, it provides the apparel industry with proper fit verification tools to test and develop garments and ergonomic accessories.

Formax® are full-body dummies. These anthropometric mannequins have easy detachable limbs and are fully articulated to execute every test movement. They facilitate model-makers and ergonomic products testers in their everyday efforts:

Body-ScanFit® is based on the first real portable and non intrusive body scanner that fits inside a standard dimensions suitcase. It’s easy to set up and user-friendly: Body-ScanFit® can be used also by non technicians.
