Other nanoparticles, such as titanium oxide, conduct electricity and can disperse the static charge gathered by synthetic materials, such as nylon and polyester.

Textile nanotechnology is by no means limited to standard fabrics to which a coating of nanoparticles is applied. Increasingly, fabrics that incorporate microscopic fibres, known as nanofibres or nanofilaments, into their composition or weave are being released onto the market.
