Intestine Processing

Intestine processing refers to the processing of the lower part of the alimentary canal of livestock slaughtered for meat into finished products, such as casings for sausages. Anatomically, the intestinal tract consists of an outer layer known as the tunica serosa, two layers of smooth muscle, collectively known as the tunica muscularis, a layer of connective tissue and blood vessels, known as the tunica submucosa and an inner layer, known as the tunica mucosa.
