ACRAFIX® PCI
Milestone in modern crosslinking, adhesion promotion and booster technology. TANATEX Chemicals developed a new generation of DMP blocked aliphatic polyisocyanates. The products are completely free of catalysts, formaldehyde and co-solvents. When compared to unblocked- or other blocked isocyanates they have the unique properties of containing no MEKoxime, needing lower temperature for de-blocking and having excellent pot-life and storage stability when formulated in coatings and finishes. Based on this state-of-the-art technology, ACRAFIX® PCI performs as an excellent crosslinker and adhesion promoter. We experience a substantial improvement of properties, due to highly branched 3D network building during drying/curing. BAYGARD® FBI performs as an outstanding booster. It improves the properties and permanency of fluorocarbon finishes on all types of substrates. It additionally improves the film forming properties of the fluorocarbon.

BAYGARD® EFN

Brilliant colors for luminescent plastics
Blankenhain, April 2013 - The GRAFE Group is known as one of the most innovative partners in the plastics processing industry. The company is presenting masterbatches for luminescent plastics at the Techtextil in Frankfurt. The luminescent masterbatches are available in brilliant red, green, yellow and blue. The basic principle of this process has been known for some years and has gained importance with the GRAFE Group’s success in improving the product’s optical appeal. In the past, products could only be made luminescent using a drab green-grey color. With the new, innovative masterbatches of the company, products can now glow in red, green, yellow and blue. These sensational results are developed for each product individually in collaboration with the customers of the Thuringian-based company. In product development, special focus is placed on the impression created by the luminescent color on the end-consumer in daylight. The majority of applications are in the toy industry as well as in fashion and advertising. Further application areas for luminescent pigments are brand authentication and document security. The use of phosphorescent pigments ensures the authenticity and lowers the risk of forgery of banknotes, credit cards, passports as well as other documents and valuable objects. Cool black applications in synthetic fibers
Blankenhain, May 2013 – GRAFE is presenting a new combination of colorants at the Techtextil 2013 in Frankfurt. This innovation will significantly reduce the heating up of PA and PET surfaces caused by the thermal absorption of carbon pigments. This temperature minimizing effect is also known under the name “cool black”. The know how required for the new development has been collected by GRAFE during many years of work in the field of photoselective formulations for LDPE and PET roofing. The solution is available as masterbatch and can dye PA and PET yarns with a dark color. The special coloration guarantees that thermal radiation (in the near infra-red or NIR area) can only be absorbed up to 700nm. The result is convincing: The reduced thermal absorption means that the product’s surface is perceived as much cooler and more pleasant to touch. Due to the chemical compatibility of the colorants used in PA and PET the experts at GRAFE have also found a way to create an alternative formulation for PP with the same effect. The new product development has been created for manufacturers of textiles and other semifinished products made of synthetic yarns who are interested in a simpler and more economical and cost-effective alternative to existing cool black products. Applications are in the field of smarttextiles, covers, floor mats and upholstery fabrics for seats in the automotive industry as well as in building interiors with increased exposure to sun. These halogen free high density polyethylene (HDPE) conduits have double robust walls design (corrugated external and smooth internal) which provide a special impact, compression and chemical resistance.
