LaserSpeed
LaserSpeed is a laser-based encoder that precisely measures the length and speed of product during production without making contact with the moving goods. How it works is that LaserSpeed projects a unique pattern on the surface of the product. As the product moves, light is scattered back to the LaserSpeed unit. This information is translated into product speed and pulses are produced to determine the product length. LaserSpeed works on all products regardless of shape, color, and texture. Length and speed measurements are captured with better than +0.05% accuracy. Since LaserSpeed uses no moving parts and is permanently calibrated, it is the ideal replacement for contact encoders. Beta LaserMike offers the LaserSpeed 4000 and 9000 models for non-wovens and textile manufacturers. The difference between these units is that the LS4000 measures product movement in one direction, while the LS9000 can measure product in both directions (forward and backward) and measure the static state (also known as zero speed) without additional external detectors. You can customize thepulse rates up to 250 KHz on the LS4000 and up to 5 MHz on the LS9000. Both units are available in versions that can measure product speed up to 12,000 m/min (39,000 ft/min). Stand-off distances range from 100 mm (4 in.) to 1000 mm (39.4 in.), depending on how close or far you require the encoder from your product. LaserSpeed can be specified with a measurement depth of field of up to 100 mm (3.0 in.).Beta LaserMike also offers a European certified length measurement system that meets MID (Measuring Instruments Directive) 2004/22/EG requirements.
