Facilities Information SystemThe tool for the integration of the building and industrial automation The Facilities Information System FIS# is a modular based software tool for the integration of technical plants and guidance systems, which brings together controlling and monitoring duties on one common platform, plant- and manufacturer wide. Furthermore the concen- tration that comes along with FIS# allows the complete archiving of all data and information from the operation of the technical plants. The saved data and information can afterwards be used for internal program summaries and analyses (consumption analyses, statistics about plant failures, graphical trends etc.). Moreover other software-systems, like ERP-systems or CAFM-systems, can pick it up and reapply it (additional cost accounts, ordering, main- tenance, strategical cor- porate planning etc.). Consequently the user is able to manage the technical operation of his plants as well as to access the data and information required for the business management of technical processes.The setup of Central components of the FIS#system are the parameterization database, the server module FIS#dekoder, the user interface FIS#graph and the FIS#driver. In the parameterization database the technical plants that have to be controlled are described in a way being understandable for FIS#. The FIS#dekoder represents the central entity of the FIS#system which administrates all tasks FIS# has to accomplish. With the help of the user interface FIS#graph the state of the plants is visualized and the influence of the users to the plants that have to be controlled is exerted. The FIS#driver represents the interfaces between FIS# and the integrated technical systems. Functions of > Connection to different technical plants and crafts from diver's manufacturers In doing so the FIS#driver translate the communication protocols that are used in the plants in a protocol that is under- standable for FIS# and vice versa. So they allow the access to data and infor- mation from the respective plants. > Structuring of the integrated plants in the navigation view The structuring can happen according to different standpoints and several times (e. g. according to crafts, locality). > Processing and normalization of data point values (Filtering, Scaling, Converting etc.) > Alarm- and fault management, limit value monitoring > Visualization of current states of plants in different ways: - Event List Describes states and events referring to plants in the form of a text. - Event History Describes archived events and consequently historical states and events in the form of a text. - Value List Tabular display of data point values. - Value History Tabular display of archived data point values. - Trends The value development, based on archived and current values, is displayed in the form of curves; comparative consideration and comparison of the value development of a data point over two timelines being misplaced against each other. - Graphics Displays the current states of the plants among other things in the form of animated graphics, whereas the animations are controlled by the data from the plants. > Control of the plants, composition of target values and parameters With the help of the interoperable visualization possibilities every known data point of the FIS#system can be influenced by the user. > Archiving of data point values and events > Message transmission and notification Incoming events can be transferred to different media (printer, fax, mail, SMS). > Browser-aided dialogue procedure for the processing of events Selected events can be transferred to a browser. There a multilevel package of measures is bailed ex ante for the respective events. When receiving the events the user gets the individual corresponding process instructions.These have to be successfully concluded within the scope of dialogue procedure, otherwise the events arrive in the reminder of the system and reappear in time slices, which can be set, automatically in the task list of the user. All user entries during this procedure are saved and available for later interpretations, analyses or backtracking. The browser-aided dialogue procedure for the processing of events is used among other things in call centers and operation control centers.The advantages of > Multivendor capability Connection to different automation protocols with the help of the FIS#driver. Proved standards like LON or OPC are used as well as protocols being fitted especially to plants. The family of the FIS#driver is always expandable. > High-capacity data point implementation A multiplicity of data types are supported, for example the data types according to the SNVT-masterlist as well as .Net and FIS# internal data types. The latter contain respective units, depending on physical allocation (e.g. temperature), to ease any conversion (e.g. from Kelvin to Centigrade) fitting to the data type. > Implemented filters A multiplicity of filter functions for the processing and normalization of data point values is integrated in the FIS#system. The family of the filters can always be expanded. > Export possibilities All data from the FIS#system can be allocated to external applications. With the help of export functions the data can be saved in different target formats (xml, csv, txt). Consequently it is possible to export data from the FIS#system at the push of a button and spread with external applications (e.g. MS-Excel). > Allocation of data for external GLT-systems All data from the FIS#system can be transferred to other GLT-systems with the help of the integrated OPC-server. In doing so the third-party systems use the vendor independence of FIS# and are able to access plants which otherwise couldn't be integrated in the third-party GLT-systems. > Interfaces to external applications All data from the FIS#system can also be allocated to CAFM-systems (e.g. pit-FM) or ERP- systems (e.g. SAP). The external applications use the data and information afterwards for additional cost accounts, ordering, maintenance and strategical corporate planning. > Flexible visualization possibilities The single elements of the user interface can be optionally arrayed. Views can be hidden, attached to others, divided or put on the top of each other so that the workplace appears always tidy as well as clear and the most important visualization elements take center stage. > High-capacity user- and authorization administration The user- and authorization administration ties in with the Windows-user accounts and -groups. For the different views, tree positions, function calls and the single variables freely definable authorizations can be allocated. All FIS# internal checks with regard to the authorizations can be logged and visualized depending on the period. > Functional and extensive transmission and call functions All incoming events in the FIS#system can be transferred to other media depending on time, plant, user and categorization. Thereby the media printer, fax, mail, SMS as well as file are supported. Upcoming events can also be called without user interface. This can happen both verbal on the phone and in written form via E-mail. > Individual expandability and design of the whole system The functions of the FIS#system are always expandable (e.g. processing routines for the FIS#dekoder). Furthermore the visualization possibilities of the FIS#graph can be expanded that way that external applications are integrated in the user interface. > We tell you how it works! Hermos allocates the FIS#system with documentations as well as training material and so imparts the necessary know-how to expand existing FIS#systems or to establish new systems. Therefore the sale and application of FIS# take place independent from Hermos as well via optional system vendors.
