Today, being well-informed in each situation has a basic meaning. So there is no reason to wonder, that smartphones like BlackBerry or iPhone are not only present in our daily live but also in the area of technical building management. A standard which was reserved for the upper manage-ment a short time ago, has become an essential technology for everybody. Being informed permanently in case of technical failures and their removal is a factor of success in the world of facility management. Safeguarding a trouble-free management of buildings and facilities to avoid failures, which affect the occupants of a building or increasing energy costs, normally cause a higher effort for technic and staff. The main target of the B-CON.net function module Alarm & Event Manager (AEM) is to reduce this effort. The module allows to control and edit the current state of alarms and alerts of each connected facility not only via work station PC or internet browser, but via BlackBerry® device. That makes the AEM unique in the segment of mobile alarm handling systems. The mobile editing of alarms and alerts guarantees an in time reaction and absolves the responsible technician from being on-site. Smartphones like the BlackBerry® in combination with the function module AEM help to make a technicians work easier and more efficient. The person in charge for the trouble-free and efficient management of buildings also benefits from the mobile control, because there is no need to solve the problem self. In summary, the result of using the AEM is a high level of transparency in incoming alarms and events and their editing status. The prompt troubleshooting in case of failures by own technicians or external service staff helps to avoid longtime breakdowns and reduces costs.

ChickaDee - Smoke Detector
Smoke alarms, which are traditionally functional rather than decorative, are a vital tool to help protect your home and your loved ones. By the end of 2006, the Dutch Association of Insurers held a competition to design fire prevention solutions, with entries from students taking various design courses in the Netherlands. The Chick-a-Dee by Louise van der Veld was the winning entry! The Chick-a-Dee is an incredibly lovely smoke alarm in the shape of a bird. The bird is perched on a branch, which also serves as a mounting system. The Chick-a-Dee can easily be fitted to the ceiling. The Chick-a-Dee design is based on the clip-on birds one often sees as decorations on Christmas trees. The designer chose this shape because birds have always been known for their warning calls. It is a well-known fact that that birds warn each other of danger by calling loudly. In the previous century, miners used to take canaries in small cages with them into the mine, because these birds are sensitive to poisonous gases such as carbon monoxide. These gases are both colourless and odourless and can hardly be sensed by man. As soon as the canaries showed even the slightest sign of distress (by no longer singing and chirping) it was a clear signal to evacuate the mine as quickly as possible. The bird's presence gave the miners both a secure and pleasant feeling. Your Chick-a-Dee takes its name and appearance from the American Black-capped Chickadee (Poecile atricapilla). This name is a tribute to its warning call, the phonetic Chickadee sound. At the smallest threat, the bird calls chick-a-dee-dee, and in more serious circumstances, the call becomes a loud dee-dee-dee sound. As soon as smoke is detected a 85 db alarm signal is activated. The alarm signals that the battery is dead by playing by playing the alarm signal. Under normal conditions, a control light flashes once a minute. The Chick-a-Dee can be tested by pressing the test button. Battery is included and easy to replace.

The mobile physical monitoring system of DEUTA-Controls consists of 2 types of monitoring sensors which guarantees a scalable protection against sabotage. Sensor type 1 has a permanent radio connection to all other sensors inside the meshed monitoring system network. Sensor type 2 looks the same like type 1, but has additionally an integrated GSM/GPRS modem to send alarm-SMS or emails. One or several sensors of type 2 with an integrated GSM/GPRS modem prevent a potential sabotage which can only work, if all type 2 sensors are manipulated to the same time, to hide the unauthorized system entry. The usage of a local monitoring system center is not needed, as it is the weak point of a centrally controlled monitoring system. Optional a WLAN-Integration is possible The monitoring modules have a discreet form, are robust against external impact as well as re-usable and can be flexible mounted on the object to be monitored. The integration into the object to be monitored is possible in cooperation with the object manufacturer. The monitoring modules as well as the complete mobile monitoring system get a sufficient power supply by integrated long-lasting batteries. A maintenance interval of 3 years is adequate. For an easy configuration and start-up of the system a user-friendly software tool on Windows basis is provided. Further system components provide a local system diagnosis online, without a possible sabotage influence. The connection to an existing (stationary) monitoring system or IT-network is possible via a gateway. Digital Control Desk System EE 380
The digital control desk system EE 380 is a new and compact intercom terminal concept, which perfectly suits the demands of small to medium sized central control workplaces. It provides good control and easy operation in situations where many calls are directed to one central point. Modular construction enables the system to be optimally configured to a variety of different control desk applications. The base of each control desk is an intercom terminal, available in 4 different versions (with or without gooseneck microphone and with or without an additional loudspeaker. This helps to find the right terminal for each working environment, whether in a quiet office or in a noisy and busy control room. Up to 4 modules with 12 direct access buttons can be connected to a base station. The buttons can be assigned to various functions: direct dialling with call indication (conversation, call, emergency call); output functions, e.g. switching light circuits, starting processes, operating doors and gates etc.; indication of input messages, e.g. status of doors, gates and barriers. Optionally there are button modules with 3-colour LEDs available, at which e.g. calls or system states can be indicated clearly.
