NOVOLAS GLOBO Optic
GLOBO welding A laser beam is focused at a point on the joining plane via an air bearing, frictionless, freely rotating glass sphere. The glass sphere not only focuses – it also serves as a mechanical clamping tool. While the sphere rolls on the component, it applies continuous pressure at a point on the joining plane. The glass sphere replaces the mechanical clamping device and expands the scope of laser welding to both continuous and three-dimensional applications. NOVOLAS New Spot Optic
New Spot Optic The new standard Spot Optic for contour welding in the NOVOLAS Basic AT or WS-AT series can be usedfor bothfiber coupled,IPG collimated as well as the High YAGconnectors.Please be aware of a difference in spot size when using following focal lengths: Focal length f = 35, 60, 89 mm Additional focal lengths are available. Please contact R&D optc group. The optic is equipped with a fiber monitoring unit. On the one hand side containing a sensor that monitors the position of the fiber within the optic. As soon as an incorrect position is monitored the laser turns off. On the other hand the laser power(W) is measured within the optic allowing power transmission to be controlled from the laser source over the fiber into the optic. It also simplifies trouble shooting loss/decrease of laser power. This is an added safety feature within the NOVOLAS AT concept. As an option a pyrometer can also be integrated into the optics.
