The VW Beetle was unique: Even in the days when he enjoyed his greatest successes, he was regarded as hopelessly outdated, but he kept on rolling around the world from one success into the other and earned a real cult status. Hardly any other car got such sympathy. Pretty much everyone has to tell a personal story about the old VW Beetle. Either the father, uncle, or else a relative drove one of the legendary crawlies that became a pseudonym for the German economic miracle of the 50s. Millions of people have asked themselves in icy winters, if it can be so difficult to incorporate a reasonable heating in a car. Countless families have failed in the attempt to stow their luggage in him – but at the end they all loved him anyway. Incredible 21.5 million units were built until the production end in June 2002. Now WERKHAUS continues the success story of the Beetle and takes it as a new trend object into the house. WERKHAUS transforms the timeless Beetle shape creatively in a functional and stable paper or collection box. The beetle consists of only a few materials such as FSC paper and recycled local wood. The brilliant and simple WERKHAUS-plug design allows that the oldtimer can be sold packed flat. The rubber rings are extremely durable, UV-resistant and food safe.
