Aaron Probyn is a London based product and furniture designer. Having studied at Kingston University, he gained a BA Hons in product and furniture design, and was subsequently offered both a place at the Royal College of Art, and a job at Habitat UK. Deciding to jump straight in to the world of work he accepted the latter, enjoying 6 years with the company as the table top design manager, overseeing design and production, briefing and managing external designers and working with the company’s worldwide network of manufacturers to develop range strategies in line with the brand and its values.
Most recently, Aaron has designed his own tableware collection under the name Studio Poise. Launched in February 2016 at Ambient, the world’s largest tableware show, the studio now designs and manufactures contemporary tableware products and supplies a global network of retailers including Normann Copenhagen, Habitat UK, Habitat Europe, US retailers West Elm and Crate and Barrel and CITTA Designs in New Zealand. The purpose of setting up Studio Poise was to develop product from concept to sign off and having total control of the process and the end product so they have integrity and longevity.
