Founded by Haring Piebenga in 1968, A.M. today supplies furniture and accessory stores the world over. A.M.’s eclectic mix reflects Haring’s passion for history. He became a well-known antique dealer in Amsterdam before moving to the USA. For the last fifty years Haring has been traveling the world seeking fascinating objects, but above all skilled artisans that can craft classic reproductions as well as unique creations.
For four centuries ships from Amsterdam's age-old port returned with cargo from the world's farthest corners. Haring purchased his first model of a Dutch East-India merchant vessel in the 1960s. With this stimulus he created a model shop that supplied reproductions to maritime museums around the world. Some have served as official state gifts to visiting dignitaries. Airplane and car models followed, always built using original materials and exact detail.
Inspired by the value and rarity of brass bound antique campaign furniture, A.M.’s high quality reproductions have become defining design elements in upscale interiors. With the addition of Belle Époque travel trunks and bars, the collection offers infinite decorative possibilities. The stories behind A.M.’s visual statements continue to stimulate the mind… From a DC3 plane, to a hand built Cabinet of Curiosities, from a 16th Century Dutch globe, to a little compass that guided sailors across oceans five centuries ago
