Environmental and regulatory compliance is critical throughout the textile supply chain. Avocet complies fully with all legislation and certification programmes. Our environmental performance is supported by our registration to ISO 14001:2004.
Through a worldwide network of distributors, Avocet Dye & Chemical Company exports more than 70% of its flame retardants, dyes and textile auxiliaries to Western Europe, the Middle East and the Asia Pacific region.
Cetaflam® Flame Retardant range
Flame retardants represent around half of the company’s total sales and are marketed under the registered Cetaflam® brand name. This range covers application by padding, back-coating and dyebath to all fibres and their blends.
Fabrics treated with Avocet’s Cetaflam® DB9/DB168 dyebath-applicable FR system are being used in aircraft, automotives and hotels throughout the world. The flame retardant is unique in allowing durable flame retardant properties to be transferred to polyester yarn and fabrics by simple exhaust techniques.
Many of the Cetaflam® products have low environmental impact and can produce flame retardant fabrics capable of Oeko-Tex 100 compliance. In response to some market concerns in respect of brominated products, Avocet has widened its range of halogen-free flame retardant solutions.
New Cetaflam® application systems are constantly being developed and Avocet specialises in understanding customer needs and offering appropriate and cost-effective flame retardant solutions.
