Bawa La Tumaini LTD is a fair trade organization that was registered by Anne Nzilani in April 2008 under the Company’s Act Cap 486 of Kenya and seeks to link talented Kenyan producers to regional and global markets thus stimulating sustainable social and economic development.
Anne Nzilani is experienced in the export process having worked with buyers from the Netherlands, Austria, Finland, Australia, Spain, Germany, Italy and the UK. She has worked on design projects with key international designers and design universities including design Academy Eindhoven in the Netherlands and Cardenal Herrera CEU in Spain.
Bawa La Tumaini owes its success to timely product delivery and communication, adapting to market change, working with international consultants, Good design sense, diversity in raw material, and a dedicated and experienced team that works around the clock to meet the desired targets.
Bawa La Tumaini designs and produces Jewellery and Home Decor’ products. The products are 90% handmade by communities that are in different geographical areas of Nairobi and its environs. These products are made out of locally sourced recycled materials and inspired by traditional designs.
The materials range from recycled horn, bone, and brass for the jewellery. Sisal and cotton is used for the home decor products.
