CORDERIE MEYER-SANSBOEUF (CMS) was established 1881 in Alsace. This factory, specialized in the manufacture of ropes, twines and braids has a long experience thanks to monitoring and keeping of ancestral knowledge.
CMS is the French leader in the manufacture of strings. It is also a leading player on the braid and rope market. Today it holds a dominant position on the market with an international presence, 49 employees, a turnover of 5.4 million Euros in 2012 (+5% in 1 year, 11% in 3 years), 800 tons of twines, ropes and braids, more than 30% of the activity to export.
Its aim is to create lasting value shared among stakeholders, based on a historical know-how and innovation in the field of strings, ropes and braids in favor of the development of all and contributing to the use of environmental practices. Its manufacture is 100% French.

In 2008, thanks to the string made of biodegradable natural fiber for wine growers, which replaces polypropylene..
In 2009, thanks to the elastic string without elastane. This innovation is patented.

Combined with Aymeric Chappellier, skipper of "The Turtle Aquarium La Rochelle" and Nicolas Boidevezi in their participation in the Transatlantic Race Mini Transat 2012 “Les Sables – Les Acores” by developing a range of ropes designed for this sporting and human challenge. Their high performance contributed to the ranking sailor: first position for Aymeric Chappellier and second for Nicolas Boidevezi.
