The Crystalite Bohemia s.r.o. company was founded in October 2009 and currently it owns two manufacturing plants. The first of these is the glassworks in Světlá nad Sázavou where there is a fully automatic production of beverage and decorative glassware (the glass factory there was founded in 1967), while the second is the Květná glassworks (founded in 1794) located in the village of Strání, where until today hand-made manufacturing continues, while the glass is also decorated using a variety of different techniques. Today the company employs over 800 people and generates an annual turnover approaching 37.5 million Czech crowns. The vast majority of its production is currently exported to more than 72 countries worldwide. Today both plants support each other synergistically. The operation in Světlá, in addition to its production, also comprises the commercial and administrative facilities for the entire company, while in Květná, decorating, engraving and grinding of the local beverage and decorative glassware takes place as well as of that produced on automated lines at the plant located in Světlá nad Sázavou.
The environmentally friendly Crystalite glass, which does not contain any lead compounds, has been in use for many years for the production of a wide range of glassware and nowadays it also contains titanium that provides a final product that has an enhanced degree of durability. This glass has the same top-quality parameters as Czech crystal glass and it can be washed in a dishwasher without any risk of degradation. Products made of this material are stronger, more resistant to a greater number of cycles in a dishwasher, while their light refraction index is also superior.
