Culimeta was founded in 1926 in The Hague by Henri Cuylits as a metal trading business (Cuylits Metal) and by 1948 it was one of the first companies in Europe which could process textile glass fibers. Since then Culimeta has emerged as a leading process partner and systems supplier with global manufacturing locations and offices – owned and managed by the third generation. During the implementation of your project you are supported by our team of more than 600 motivated, competent employees who develop, design and manufacture thermal and acoustic insulation and shielding.
Culimeta – Reliable products for thermal, electrical and acoustic insulations
In Germany Culimeta is represented with plants in two different locations. Culimeta at the Bersenbrück parent plant and the Culimeta branch in Mölln employ more than 70 staff. Culimeta has a command of the basic technologies and the machining processes, which are absolutely essential for developing and manufacturing high-quality glass fibre products.
Textile glass fibre products can be found in virtually all aspects of everyday life. Manufactured using state-of-the-art systems, our products are environmentally friendly and completely safe. Glass fibre products boast outstanding thermal, electrical and acoustic insulation properties – they are non-combustible, chemically and biologically resistant and as a result, highly durable.
With a production area of more than 26,000 square metres, over five thousand tons of raw material are processed into high-quality glass fibre products each year. Molten glass is drawn through jets at a precisely defined high speed. Each yarn consists of up to 1,600 individual filaments; each so fine its diameter can only be measured in micrometres – that’s thousandths of a millimetre. Their low density, minimal elongation and high tensile strength make continuous filament glass fibre products ideal for a vast variety of applications.
Culimeta is the global market leader in the production of plied glass filament yarns. Our standard range includes combinations with other technical yarns such as aramide, polyester, metal wire and natural fibres made from renewable resources. Every project is monitored and controlled, producing consistently high quality products with the required specifications.
Production is integrated vertically – in-house processed plied and texturized yarns are woven and knitted into finished hoses and seals. Silica fabrics and tapes complete Culimeta’s comprehensive range, and punching, laminating and CAD-based manufacture can be included. Making the most of a varied range of patented finishing methods enables us to satisfy even the most demanding customer requirements.
Many customers around the world trust Culimeta – trust, which is based on the know-how of experienced employees who are confronted daily with new challenges and tackle these with customer and target focus.
