Specialized in wind instruments made from carbon fiber composites, daCarbo develops and distributes trumpets, trombones and saxophone necks.
Instrument makers, engineers, acoustic designers and musicians have worked together intensively to develop wind instruments which are remarkably easy to play yet produce a warm and rounded tone not fading away in the upper registers.
The founder partners of daCarbo AG, Werner Spiri and Andreas Keller, have decades of experience in making wind instruments and in developing products and processes in the synthetic material sector.
It is this fertile combination of instrument-maker’s know-how and materials science that makes daCarbo possible.
Carbon fiber engineering
daCarbo uses the freedom offered by carbon fiber alignment and composite construction in building its instruments not to cut down on weight, but primarily to optimize the instrument’s vibration. It becomes possible to suppress those vibrations in the tube that simply waste energy. Instrument-makers, engineers, acoustic designers and musicians have worked together intensively to minimize the energy loss in the air column, where the sound is generated.
daCarbo Signature Trumpet „Toni Maier“
Brilliance, Immediacy and Flexibility As all daCarbo-trumpets the „Toni Maier“ has an incredible response. The extraordinary large bell enables a powerful projection also in the upper registers. The sound comes also to the trumpeter himself, what enhances control. The low resistance airflow makes the ML bore feel like an L bore. The sound of this instrument, once warm, once brilliant leaves nothing to be desired.
Trumpet Model „Unica“
Very direct response, full sound. The daCarbo Unica Trumpet supports a full rounded tone across its entire range. Due to the surprisingly effortless response it plays very direct with improved control: more endurance for the musician.
daCarbo trombones are remarkably easy to play in all registers at supreme sound quality. They allow excellent articulation and direct control. The carbon fiber outer slide can never bend or dent and is manufactured much straighter than a brass slide trombone. As a result, the gap between the outer and inner slide can be held at a minimum, allowing only enough space for lubricant. This new technology enhances the sound, speed, and comfort of your playing. Furthermore, the new carbon fiber outer slide is extremely light, giving you the utmost comfort in performance.

The neck of your saxophone has a huge influence on sound and playability. daCarbo Sax necks for alto and tenor saxophones are remarkably easy to play also in the highest and lowest registers at supreme sound quality. They allow excellent articulation and direct control. The sound of the saxophone opens up, allowing a better projection.
Exchangeable Tenon daCarbo necks can easily be adapted to almost any saxophone: Various tenons are available, which can be screwed into the threaded ring on the necks end.
