Data Strategy – making safety part of the process.
Data Strategy has a long history of specialising in delivering real world, practical products that combine software with hardware to provide safety solutions for the hire industry. Our aim is to understand customers’ business processes and deliver comprehensive solutions that provide real enhancements to those requirements.
To this end QC-Check perfectly represents the company’s philosophy of combining software and hardware as, in partnership with long term partners Out Board, the application provides a comprehensive method for testing equipment for electrical safety (Portable Appliance Testing), thorough inspection of cables and assurance that RCD protection for power equipment is working correctly. The latest version of QC-Check and the new generation of Out Board testers address the ever increasing focus on compliance with industry safety standards with the added benefit of enhanced workflow efficiency.
QC Check, when employed with Out Board Electronics’ PAT-4 and CAB-5 automated Portable Appliance Testers and Cable Testers, will fulfil all PAT, CABLE and RCD testing required under UK and International regulations including VDE 0701 & 0702 and IEC PT 62638 (Recurrent test and test after repair and modification of electrical equipment). The PAT-4 Test Processor comes in single-phase and 3-phase versions with 16A, 32A and 125A variants; add-on CAB-5 modules allow power, data and control cable tests from 5-100 cores.
NEW at the show is Power-Check that, combined with Out Board’s RCD-T, provides a complete inspection, testing and test result recording of equipment containing RCDs.
QC-Check uses a SQL database to record the test results and is fully networkable across multiple workstations allowing any number of users to prep, test, inspect and log data simultaneously. Comprehensive reporting is built into the application to allow the production of test certificates and returns exceptions lists for each rental job.
QC-Check has been integrated with many rental software packages including easyjob, HireTrack, Rental Point, RTPro, InspHire, Team (PRG proprietary system), Forward Hire (Stage Electrics proprietary system).
Our clients include PRG, Fisher Hires, Blitz Communications, Event Concepts, Pinewood MBS, Warner Brothers, Cinelease, Pearce Hire, SES, VER, Panalux, Entec, Trans-Sport, Hawthorn, Eclipse Hire Dubai, Royal Opera House, Blinding Light, Creative Technology, Stage Electrics, Paragon, Clwyd
QC-Check is a networked, multi-user application for electrical safety testing and quality control inspection of rental equipment.
When employed with Out Board Electronics’ PAT-4 and CAB-5 testers, QC-Check will fulfil all PAT (single & 3-phase), CABLE and RCD testing required by UK & international electrical regulations VDE 0701 & 0702 and IEC PT 62638 (Recurrent test and test after repair and modification of electrical equipment).
QC-Check carries out Portable Appliance Testing of electrical equipment. The software allows the user to define Visual Inspections, MBR (Measure Bond Resistance) and MIR (Measure Insulation Resistance specific to the specification of the EUT (Equipment Under Test). In addition, Prep instruction screens ensure equipment is set up to a consistently high standard. Finally, a multi-step Functional test option guarantees the EUT is working correctly. The test hardware is manufactured in the UK by Out Board Electronics and consists of single and 3-phase variants with ratings of 16A, 32A and 125A.
Cable-Check – Cable Testing
The Cable-Check module interfaces to the Out Board CAB-5 cable test module which is connected to and controlled by the PAT-4. Each CAB-5 can test 5 cores of cable and up to 20 units can be daisy chained to the PAT-4 (cables with up to 100 cores). The cable cores are tested sequentially for continuity (with load) and insulation resistance. Cable-Check allows cores to be re-ordered or excluded.
Power-Check has been developed to test all elements of power distribution equipment that contain RCD’s. OutBoard Electronics’ new module, the RCD-T, retrofits into the PAT-4 tester, and carries out the testing including the basic BS7671 requirements of Non-tripping, Tripping and 5IΔn and Ramp (Nuisance). All results are automatically recorded and can be used to produce certification reports. In addition to an earth bond test a FOP (Functional, Operation & Polarity) check can be carried out in conjunction with the RCD test ensuring the device is fit for purpose.
QC-Pick provides a flexible interface to the jobs created in the hire software package. The module provides seamless integration to the hire software while ensuring that the equipment picked for a job is correctly tested.
