E. & O. Mari, Inc., the maker of La Bella Strings, is America's oldest continuously family-owned and operated manufacturer of high quality strings for virtually every kind of stringed instrument. La Bella makes and distributes worldwide over 3,000 different strings suitable for every type and style of music. Established in the 1640s in Salle, Italy, the Mari family emerged as the prominent supplier of violin strings to both Stradivari and Amati. The tradition of string making was since passed down from generation-to-generation to today’s operating family. For the last 100 years, the entire production is based out of La Bella’s New York factory. Each string is developed using a combination of longstanding Italian craftsmanship and top notch American quality. Sophisticated, computer controlled and automated string-winding machinery is used where applicable, but hand-winding is used where it delivers the best results.
La Bella Strings products include strings for classical guitar, flamenco guitar, acoustic guitar, electric guitar, jazz guitar, electric bass guitar, acoustic bass guitar, violin, viola, cello, double bass, banjo, mandolin, ukulele, oud, sitar, bouzouki, balalaika, latin folk instruments, early instruments and specialty sets across all instruments and genres.
