FairForward is the exclusive supplier of Gifts & Living products for the brand Fair Trade Original.
We design, import and sell two collections every year in Home Decoration, Table Top and Gifts.
Such as decorative baskets made of Kaisa grass in Bangladesh, ceramic tableware from Thailand, recycled glass from Bolivia or palmoil candles from Indonesia.
However we also offer wooden utensils, storage jars, shoppers, keyrings, stools, placemats, tea boxes and much more, from countries as Vietnam, India or Sri Lanka.
Products with a story to them, about the design, the way it’s produced or about the people producing them, often by hand. Making it great gifts.
We sometimes even combine two countries within one product range. For instance when we had our Origami and Diamond vases produced in recycled glass by our producer in Bolivia in addition to the ceramic vases which are produced in Thailand. Or making the carafes and mugs in blue and green ceramics to match with the same shapes of our recycled glass Pila range.
We offer our various producers a fair price and support them in growing their business.
Our producers are based in Asia and Latin/South America.
Fair Trade Original was founded in 1959 and is one of the older fairtrade brands in Europe.
Besides our own design team we work together with well known Dutch designer Piet Hein Eek from whom we currently feature 3 ranges.
Starting with a range of wooden baskets and decorated vases from Vietnam, quickly followed by a full ceramic range from Thailand named FAT ceramics.
The producer in Thailand was not very good at producing thin crockery for the Western market which is why Piet Hein Eek told them to just make it FAT.
Sometimes a design (or at least the idea behind it) can be simple.
We are planning to launch a new version of the FAT ceramics at Ambiente and to introduce a wooden lamp designed by Piet Hein Eek.
