FRAP is highly specialised in engineering, developing and manufacturing suspension arms, steering linkages, tie-rod ends, ball joints, tie-rods and stabilizer links. The sector of safety components for steering axle vehicles is an increasingly competitive and specialised area of concern. Quality, range, service and competitiveness are the points of strength chosen by FRAP to win the market challenges by engineering and manufacturing products according to the highest quality standards, within the scope of continuous technical upgrading and in the full respect of all standards. It is no chance that major tractor and truck manufacturers, such as New Holland, Same Deutz-Fahr Group and Iveco, have chosen FRAP joints for their original factory-fit equipment.
FRAP was founded in 1932 in Piossasco (Turin, Italy) making ball joints, pivot pins, tappet pins and transmission rods. From the beginning, the company addressed the automotive component sector, with special reference to steering axle vehicle steering and suspension system parts. Our experience reaches back, our passion has modernised and grown in time.
Today, after seventy years of history, FRAP looks at the future with the same enthusiasm as in 1932. We are projected into the future, well aware that new technologies, research and continuous personnel training are crucial and must be constantly supported by passion and enthusiasm driven day by day, year by year...
How can top level quality be constantly ensured? FRAP believes that development is the answer - our yearly investment in technology and research amounts to approximately 10% of our revenue.
Finished elements analysis, 3 axis measurement and calculation, cast iron ultra-sonic inspection and micrographic analysis, cracks inspections through magnetoscope, hardened surfaces measurement, fatigue tests for silentblocs and steering rods fatigue testing are only a some of the indispensable tools for ensuring high quality levels and constantly improving our products. Today, the company engineers, manufactures and tests components by implementing the most advanced inspection procedures. Our Quality Assurance department ensures full component reliability throughout all production phases. The FRAP testing laboratory includes fatigue test benches simulating the toughest working conditions of joints fitted in motor vehicles. Our quality assurance system developed over the years and was ISO 9002 certified in 1996 and ISO 9001 certified in 1997.
Engineering, hot forging, hardening and tempering treatments, working, grinding and rolling, surface induction hardening, surface protection treatments, final assembling and packing: these are the steps carried out by FRAP every day, on all products, in the 28,000 square metre plant, over half of which is covered.
Engineering and manufacturing the best product is only one aspect of customer service. All products - we stress “all” - must be readily available, to drastically cut waiting times and costs. This is why the FRAP finished product warehouse is 2300 square metres large. The warehouse is equipped with the most modern automatic storage and retrieval systems and packaging machines. Our organisation can guarantee the satisfaction of any market request, with the shortest delivery times.
