For nearly 130 years, GOBEL has been manufacturing pastry moulds. This long history is without doubt a guarantee of great know-how and irreplaceable experience. This experience has enabled GOBEL to provide constant satisfaction to its customers, from 1887 to the present day!
GOBEL’s journey started in 1887 when Etienne Gobel opened a factory in Paris, rue du Faubourg du Temple, to produce copper and tin moulds. It did not take long for the company to become one of the leaders in its field, and, in 1919, GOBEL moved to larger facilities in Joué-lès-Tours to benefit from proximity to the railway station. A smart move and a winning strategy: by the end of the 1930s, GOBEL was selling over 2000 different products to the food-processing industry and home bakers. The famous “petits beurres” (much loved French cookies) were cooked exclusively on GOBEL baking sheets.
The company started expanding overseas in the 1940s. The Belgium and Moroccan pastry chefs followed by the English and American pastry chefs were the first to appreciate the high quality of GOBEL’s pastry moulds. Already successful in France, the company accelerated its global expansion in the 1980s by capitalizing on the superiority of the “Made in France” in culinary arts. Its broad international exposure matches its ability to provide its customers with high quality products of the utmost standards that meet all the requirements of the world gastronomy. Nowadays, GOBEL’s products are distributed throughout the world in over 40 different countries, from Japan to Israel, from the United States to Australia.
GOBEL keeps investing in new technologies to meet the expectations of its customers looking for innovative products with original shapes. Sustained and ongoing investments, both in materials and equipment, ensure that GOBEL maintains the highest standards at all stages of manufacture. This perfect combination of technology and tradition has been contributing to continuously offer a wide range of high quality products designed to perfectly meet the needs of the most demanding professionals. As a result, GOBEL was the very first company to launch colored non-stick pastry moulds or different shaped cake rings. Innovation, creativity and the ability to provide its customers with custom-made shapes are the main components of GOBEL’s “secret” recipe for success.
Founded in 1887, GOBEL has managed to remain the benchmark brand for pastry chefs ever since. The company provides total satisfaction to its worldwide customers by offering them “100% made in France” products that sublimate the final result of the preparations. The Living Heritage Company (EPV) quality label, awarded in 2014, is a mark of recognition of 129 years of great know-how that combines tradition, innovation and creativity.
GOBEL strives to meet the needs of its most demanding customers. The company offers a wide range of high quality products from original stainless steel pastry rings to popular pastry molds – such as the fluted tart mold, used by many professionals to make classic French pastries. These products are distributed throughout the world in over 40 countries to all food industry professionals and high-end kitchen appliances stores.
GOBEL’s products are well-known for their ability to give a wonderful textured crust to the dough and sublimate the final result of the preparations.
