In 1887, Giacomo Gusmini, the great father of the current owners, started working and trading "Woolen Cloths" (typical product coming off the looms of the fulling mills and old "Chiodere" in Vertova).
Afterwards, the son Santo continued the transformation of the products, adapting them at the technical use paying careful attention to emerging demands in the textiles and machine-textiles industries.
In 1930, the Gusmini Lanificio gradually strengthened its position and equipped itself to run a complete manufacturing cycle.
The growing demand for FELTS, CLOTHS,BLANKETS and FURNISHING FABRICS in 1960 meant a new spinning mill had to be built in Vertova.
In 1975, the company got the chance to buy the Cene Mill and fit it with a purification plant for the waste water from the new dye-works. There was plenty of room in the Cene Mill to rapidly install a modern preparation and carded yarn manufacturing line to complete the flock, yarn and dying plant.
In 1977, all the weaving operations were moved from Vertova to Cene, installing new Jacquard and rapier looms.
In 1987/1988 also the finishing operations had to be moved from Vertova to Cene after buying the new plant to update the facilities, ensure eco-friendly waste water disposal systems, and improve to overall quality standards and production rates. Our hundred years experience and know-how , the acquisitions from Feltrificio Veneto in the year '97, allow us to consolidate and improve our traditional quality standards. In 2003, we realized the purchase of the "Feltrificio Moglia" in Marone (BS), introducing new international customers and improving and innovating the production processes with research and new technologies. In year 2004, the company achieved the certification for its processes T'V DIN EN ISO 9001:2000 .
