Highland Industries invents new textile and materials solutions to meet our customers’ specific high-performance needs. We harness technology and brainpower to satisfy the fast-growing needs of the industrial textile and materials markets. Our design, engineering, and production processes are the result of constant research and development. Your needs drive our offerings—never the other way around.


Our extensive array of capabilities include:

     

  • Product Engineering - textile & chemical engineering, polymer science, real-world expertise in manufacturing & processing

  • Fabric Forming - wovens, knits, circular knit, weft knit, spacer knit

  • Coating & Lamination - solvent-capable, 100% solids, hot melt, rubber, urethanes & acrylics, aqueous, extrusion

  • R&D Laboratory - materials testing & analysis, in-house chemical compounding, custom development

  • Composite Engineering & Design - solid modeling with CATIA V5 and Solidworks Premium, fiber and material selection, mold tooling design, prototype design & manufacture

  • Composite Structures - standard braiding, over-braiding, filament winding, automated ply cutting & kitting, in-autoclave curing, composite oven curing, resin-transfer molding (RTM & L-RTM), resin infusion (VaRTM), 200-ton heated and cooled platen press (1000° F capability)

Because we are inventors, Highland’s facilities are part factory, part laboratory. Our scientists use a variety of sophisticated tools and methods to create new answers to our customers’ new needs. We use the same capabilities to test products during production for continuous quality assurance.
