Homeland Development Initiative Foundation(HDIF) was founded in 2013 expressly to create jobs for women in rural Armenia, using traditional skills. With strong sales growth since starting, HDIF now employs nearly 200 women who make mostly crocheted products. An applicant for membership to the World Fair Trade Organization, HDIF intends to continue to develop very high quality, finely designed crocheted and knitted products that cater to the international market.
