ICEL is a portuguese company (and brand) that manufactures knives.
Established in 1945, ICEL started as a small family business company, due to heritage and tradition. In 1972, a new inovation spirit and ideas emerged and in full awareness and respect by the new market demands as well as product international recognition, ICEL begun to export mainly to U.S.A., Canada, Germany, Sweden, Denmark and England, and for big retailers. Nowadays, ICEL exports more than 85% of it´s production for more than 75 countries spread across the 5 continents.
ICEL provides a large product range in order to satisfy the HORECA, Domestic/Household and Professional segments needs.
The knives blades are produced attending to high standards of Quality and the steel ICEL uses (AISI 420) as an alloy with contents of Chromium, Molybdenium and Vanadiumit that allows greater stability of the steel, increasing its wear resistance during the productive process, as well as good corrosion resistance, extremely sharp knives and retention of cutting power for a significant period in time, without having to re-sharpen the knives.
In what concerns to handles, ICEL uses different materials like: brasilian, indian and portuguese woods, diverse plastics like PP (polypropylene), POM (polyoxymethylene), Proflex, Proflex Plus, Stainless Steel and Micarta.
ICEL is certified in Quality and was the first cutlery company all over the world to be certified in Environment. ICEL products are too certified by NSF - National Safety Foundation.
Therefore ICEL offers a wide range of knives, made in Portugal, with today´s “state of art” technology, and the most modern processes that exist for cutlery, some of them unique because were/are developed inside the company by our specialized workers.
