Libretto believes in the charm and power of paper.
Invented in China in 105 A.D. during the Han Dynasty, paper has myriad modern applications and surprising resilience. Despite the ubiquity of digital media, paper doesn't go away; the more time we spend staring at flat screens and smartphones, the more we find tactile paper products alluring.
We make some of the most beautiful stationery on earth. And desk accessories, puzzles, boxes, lanterns, and packaging, all out of paper.
Since 1997, Libretto has collaborated with leading fashion designers, brands, and institutions: Kate Spade, Designers Guild, Christian Lacroix, Liberty, Christian Louboutin, Architectural Watercolors, the Metropolitan Museum, the Frick Collection, the New York Times, and many more.
Our guiding principle is that social stationery should be inspiring and truly "social"--romantic, amusing, provocative. Using long-neglected printing techniques--gilding, flocking, pop-up, embossing--we tell stories with paper, making products that are useful, desirable, and that every now and then will take your breath away.
