Lindauer DORNIER GmbH – Machine Engineering "Made in Germany”

The Bavarian-Württemberg family enterprise located near Lake Constance offers with its weaving machine system family comprising the rapier and air-jet machines an innovative and sustainable machine concept for the production of upmarket textiles. Customers worldwide produce fabrics for the sectors "clothing, home textiles and technical textiles" on these state-of-the-art weaving machines. The DORNIER weaving machines prove their flexibility and strength especially for "technical textiles" which are products with the highest quality demands for the protection of people and the environment, such as airbags, functional textiles for filtration of solid matter, wet and air as well as shading.

DORNIER is the leading manufacturer of film stretching machinery for the production of high-value plastic films. E.g. the company's market share for polyester films is well above 50%. The worldwide demand for packaging films is steadily growing. Even more important for DORNIER is the huge demand for technical films for display screens, touch panels, solar cells and electronics.

Woven semi-finished textile products for fiber composites made of glass, aramid, basalt and carbon fibers mainly help to reduce moving masses and therefore the CO2 emissions. These exceptionally efficient high-precision fabrics are being used more and more in aviation and aerospace, in automotive industry, in mechanical engineering and construction as well as architecture.

For this purpose, DORNIER combined its core competences in 2014 under the brand of "DORNIER Composite Systems®". Based on the know-how in weaving fiber composite semi-finished products and the usage of thermoplastic materials, the company offers efficient manufacturing processes for these high-performance materials.
