Marigaux, a famous name, a renowned brand. Since now over 70 years the name Marigaux has been associated with those of the greatest oboe players, its reputation ever continuing to assert itself. At present Marigaux is a reference in the field of sound throughout the world.The 12 January 1935, Strasser Marigaux is founded by three associates: Mr Strasser, Mr Marigaux and Mr Lemaire, hence the abbreviation of the former company SML. Marigaux starts activity in Paris, 144 bd. de la Villette with the manufacture of saxophones and flutes. In parallel with this also begins the making of oboes and clarinets at a workshop in La Couture Boussey, a town in Normandy already a well-known center of French craftsmanship for wind instruments.In 1975, Marigaux buys the company Malerne and transfers its production into a more spacious factory.In 1981 Marigaux abandones the manufacture of all other instruments to devote itself entirely to the improvement of oboes and clarinets. Marigaux disrupts the traditional world of oboe in 2005 with the totally revolutionary M2, the worldwide patented and unequalled oboe with interchangeable head joints. M2 redefines the concept of tuning, ergonomics and pleasure for every professional oboe player.The Marigaux oboe is a first choice instrument throughout the world today. It is exported to around 60 different countries and is played in the most renowned orchestras world-wide.
