…studied graphics and fashion design in Munich’s master school for fashion.
Afterwards she worked as stylist with well-known German companies. In 1986 Maximiliane Kiermeier discovered puppets on strings as objects of art for herself. Since then she is designing and making them in caring and elaborate handcraft. All of the puppets are made according to her imagination and are known from fairy tales and fantasy. Even portrait puppets are available on request.
…are handmade in Maximiliane and Wolfgang Kiermeier’s (her husband) workroom. The puppets are handcrafted. It takes between 15 to 30 hours to make one single puppet. Head and hands of the puppets are made of ceramic. The costumes are of noble fabrics. The marionettes are not for decoration only but are made like real marionette theatre puppets. They have a special \"play cross\" which makes it easy to handle the puppet. As per Maxi-Marionetten, you can learn to play the puppets in appr. 15 minutes with a bit of talent. The puppets are appr. 40 cm-60 cm tall - from feet to hang up point 120 cm.
Depending on the purchase volume, more or less people are working for Maxi-Marionetten. There are having three sewers, 2 men for the wooden parts and of course Maximiliane and Wolfgang Kiermeier.
