The mozaiq operations gmbh is an international joint venture between ABB, Bosch,and Cisco Systemsand provides an open platform for manufacturers as well as developers in the field of smart homes. The aim of the enterprise is to accelerate interoperability in the smart home market and thus create new market opportunities for the entire eCoSystem. Simple, cross-manufacturer data exchange between different devices, applications, and services used by the end user is enabled by the mozaiq platform and the corresponding backend, whilst meeting the highest safety standards. In the process, the cross-system platform is open to any complementary smart home solutions. The joint venture based in Eschborn was founded in March 2015. With its platform, the company is primarily targeting smart home, telecommunications and energy management providers, manufacturers of white and brown goods, software and service providers as well as app developers with the aim of serving the global market.

The mozaiq-partner alliance e.V. is a registered non-profit organization that operates as an anti-discriminatory framework for exchange between customers and prospective customers of the mozaiq platform. The founding members are: ABB, Bosch, Busch-Jaeger, Cisco, GreenCom Networks, Integral City, Intel, Kreutz&Partner, mozaiq operations as well as Tunstall. The aim of the alliance is to provide an exchange forum for developing cross-manufacturer use cases based on the mozaiq platform and to incorporate the resulting requirements for the mozaiq smart home platform into the development of mozaiq operations gmbh.

B2B customers integrate the mozaiq platform into their own products and solutions using software development kits (SDK), hardware development kits (HDK) and application programming interface (API), which mozaiq provides for free. Customer data is retained by the device and service providers, who can manage the use of this data individually.

By establishing the mozaiq-partner alliance e.V., mozaiq has created a non-discriminatory cross-manufacturer framework for developing use cases based on the mozaiq platform. The alliance also serves as a sounding board for mozaiq platform requirements, which can then be incorporated into the platform as it is developed further. Its members use an open innovation process to develop new solutions and applications based on the mozaiq platform. They are organized into working committees, who work on the smart home ecosystem requirements for different subject areas. The alliance is a registered non-profit organization.
