It’s our aim to offer the best possible scrape of his reed to each musician. This with products which are distinguished by precision, reliability and at the same time, user-friendly.


Many enthusiastic bassoonists and oboists already use the Bucher Profiling machines. Both in the high and low registers the reeds have a better response and allow for more dynamic.


Bassoonists appreciate the possible length of the scrape up to the base (maximal length 28mm).


The Bucher AUTOMATIC UNIT facilitates your scraping work in addition.


As oboist, Markus Bucher was interested in technical and instrumental problems for decades. The most important goal was the development of a profiling machine that allows scraping in a quality and with all correction possibilities of the best hand-scraped reeds.


After years of work, in 2008 this goal even was exceeded: the reeds have a quality not attainable by hand.


Markus Bucher studied medicine in Basel and oboe with André Lardrot. Numerous free-lance performances as soloist, with chamber music ensembles and with orchestras. His instruments are oboe, oboe d’amore, cor anglais and baritone oboe.
