The Background :
Much before “eco-friendly” and “natural” were considered fashionable terms, we at Pankaj International were convinced of the need to make our own humble contribution towards making our planet a greener, better place to live in. In 1997, we embarked on our journey.
The Journey :
We began with providing jute bags for packaging – a small beginning in the traditional stronghold of the jute bag business. Shortly, we established our formidable presence in the traditional area by providing customized sacks for bulk packaging of various agricultural commodities.
Having done that, we set out to explore the whole spectrum – encompassing the modern with the old. We worked hard and succeeded in making jute a fashionable fabric which sells in some of the finest stores of the world today. This has been achieved through the consistent and tireless efforts at design development and value addition of our gifted design team.
Our success in this field too, motivated us to grow further. We have since diversified into other natural fabrics like cotton, canvas & jute-cotton blends.
Along the way, we created our own brand “Bohemia” – a beautiful blend of the basic & intrinsic eco-friendly nature of jute and cotton with the sophistication of modern day cuts, patterns & styling.
Where on the one hand, we are now manufacturing close to 3 million bags for packaging various commodities, on the other hand, we are also making fashionable casual day bags for the demanding it-girl of today. Our brand Bohemia is now omnipresent – in your kitchen for packaging your spices, in your garden for providing winter protection for your plants, on your super-market shelf providing you with a green alternative to unfriendly plastic bags and even as gift bags in your Christmas festivities.
The important markets of the company are United States, Europe, Japan and Middle East. These countries are our traditional focus areas. We are also expanding to South-East Asia, South America and other countries of the southern hemisphere.
