Platek: deep roots in the Donati Group. It was established as a corporation on January 1, 2015, with a share capital of 1 million euro, but PLATEK SRL was founded as a division of the Donati Group 15 years ago, starting to produce aluminium plates for switches and electrical sockets. The Donati Group, in fact, was founded in the sixties with the Metalpres Donati aluminium die-cast by Rodengo Saiano and in the eighties it expanded with the creation of DONATI SPA, which produces components for office chairs in the aluminium and plastic industry. During these 15 years, PLATEK, has faced a continuous evolutionary process, starting with the production of lanterns for outdoor lighting and extending more and more in the lighting and lighting design sector through every kind of lighting system. Platek today exports 65% of its products abroad (especially in France, Germany, Great Britain, Scandinavia and the Middle East) and is involved in design, engineering and manufacture of lighting instruments, offering advice and operational cooperation for the constructions of its customers. The design flexibility, the high formal qualification of the products, the ongoing commitment for service excellence and respect for the environment are elements that qualify PLATEK’s production and operation. Within the Donati Holding, which has about 400 employees PLATEK increased from 18 employees in 2007 to 35 today, quadrupling its turnover and establishing itself with a strong identity: we make light, not products! Platek designs space and creates scenarios using the talent of its employees and developing valuable partnerships with the designers that they like: collaboration is a hallmark accompanying Platek since its creation. Born in an important group, in which it took the first steps and has grown establishing itself for the quality of its products, today Platek expresses its value by supporting architects and designers, even in the city planning field, to give shape to a future in which light plays an increasingly central role. The light, in fact, can generate strong emotions, change the perception of space, and enhance any architectural detail, outside and inside the buildings: light enhances and hides, colours, softens and overshadows, accentuates and emphasizes with an irresistible charm.
If a product does not exist yet, Platek creates it. In these 15 years of life Platek created lighting design fixtures and for urban furniture, walk over and drive over recessed lights, ground-level lights, wall-recessed and ceiling-recessed lights, floodlights , underwater lights, downlights and ceiling-mounted lights, wall effects and bollards. In these areas Platek has ranged from design product, produced also in collaboration with external designers, to the most technical equipment, with great attention to lighting technology performance, energy savings and visual comfort, and for these reasons it prefers to use LEDs. Platek also develops technical solutions for performance improvement, as the dynamic lighting control systems, true RGB LED configurators. Every year Platek puts new products on the market, developed for different environments: high class residential, prestigious buildings, hotels, parks and gardens, plazas, walkways, paths, driveways, parking lots, gardens, events and exhibitions, in Italy and abroad , especially in France. Technique, precision and control characterize Platek installations. New technologies and the dynamics of the LED light (in its white, dynamic white, monochrome, RGB and RGBW versions) allow Platek, in fact, to control the light and lighting fixtures with absolute precision and in a more sustainable way.
Platek is attentive to environmental sustainability, but also to economy, both for the project implementation and for its maintenance over time. The projects to which Platek has had the pleasure to contribute with its appliances talk about itself. Among these, we can note the the Dei di Pozzuoli Hotel, the old-town center of Comacchio, the Conad Super Store of Porcia, the churches of Montagne St. Emilion (France) and Brugnolo, the church Santa Maria delle Carceri in Prato, the Heiligenstein hotel in Neuweier (Germany), the Cathedral of Piacenza, the Graslin plaza, the port of Puntaldia in Nuoro, the Almè pool in Bergamo, the castle of Landeck and the Hotel Casino de Chaves in Portugal.
