Artistry at its finest, ingenuity at its peak; this is the core of the designs conceptualized and produced by PRADO Filipino Artisans, Inc. (Formerly Miles Ahead Corp. The former name was changed to PRADO Filipino Artisans, Inc. on August 2013 for branding purposes in the world market. At the helm of this modest company is Miguel A. Prado, Jr. He is also an active Director of the Philippine Camber of Handicraft Exports and Artisans Inc. from 2013 to this present day. It began in 1987 as a manufacturer / exporter of hand-made giftware and hand-woven wicker products using inigenous materials suck as rattan, wood, fibers, sea grass, twigs and wild vine skillfully combined withother materials such as resin, wrought iron, and terra cotton. In 1996, due to the decline in the demand for wicker products, the products lines shifted, using mainly black iron, wrought iron, tin, and wire at times mixed with abaca rope, paper, resin, glass and other materials such as those mentioned above. Despite the shift, and even as the market trends continued to evolve, the company continued to maintain the unique creativity, innovation, design and impeccable quality required by its medium-to high-end market. Today, PRADO still creates enchanting works of art that constantly reflect a global trend with its perfect blend of color and its harmonious marriage of diverse materials craftily executed in its fine line of giftware, specialized furniture, furniture accessories, home and garden decor, holiday decor, and lighting. The major thrust of the company is continuous research and prodcut development. It will not spare any cost - wheter time, money, or material - to achieve this end. In October 10, 1997, Miles Ahead Coperation won the prestigious Katha Award for Best prdocut Design for Christmas and Holdiay Decors. It has successfully carved a niche in the export business, while serving the discriminating needs of affluent clientele from the United States of America, Eruope, Canada, Japan, Singapore, South Korea, Australia, New Zealand, Middle East and Latin America. Last December 14, 1999, Miles Ahead was chosen by CITEM to be part of the Philippine Participation in the Ambiente 2000 held in Frankfurt Messe, Frankfurt, Germany from February 18-22, 2000. In 2001, 2002, 2003 and 2011, Miles Ahead Corporation was selected by Japan ASEAN Center and CITEM as one of the four exporters of gift wares to represent the Philippines in the Tokyo International Gift Shows and Fukuoka. Generous subsidies were given by the Japan Asean Center to the representatives. On January 21, 2002, Miles Ahead was declared by a group of respected jurors, finalist in the SWAROVSKI HOME DECOR DESIGN COMPETITION in all three categories namely : Lamp and lighting, Home Accessories, and Furniture. On final judging last April 20, 2002 at the Manila Fame Show, Miles Ahead won the GRAND PRIZE. On May 20,2003, Miles Ahead was invited by CITEM to be part of the Philippines Participation in the 13th Middle EAST Furniture, Interior and Retail Design Exhibition (INDEX 2003) last October 7-11, 2003 at the Dubai International Exhibition Center, UAE. In May, 2000, Miguel A. Prado, Jr., President, CEO and Desiginer of Miles Ahead was launched as the first Filipino Artist in bologna, Italy featuring exclusively the products of Miles Ahead. In 2010 and 2014, through the initiative of CITEM, Miles Ahead was invited by ASEAN-KOREA CENTRE to represent the Philippines as an exhibitor in the Seoul Gift Show and Seoul Furniture and Living Fair 2014. In all the international shows participated by PRADO Filipino Artisans, Inc. as an exhibitor, its products are always prominently featured in the Organizers' main showcase and in the Host country's publications, magazines and newspapers.
