Really Good; purveyor of rather marvellous gifts and things. Our products speak for themselves; an eclectic mix of gifts, home accessories and lifestyle products. From the innovative novelty to the perfectly practical; our collections are quirky, our ranges radical. All products are carefully crafted and provided with a smile, ensuring we live up to our Really Good name."
For over 28 years David Hicks has been designing cards that appeal to everyone; beginning in August 1987 selling postcards from the boot of his car and trading as The Really Good Card Company, which was a name that came to him in a dream! After successfully securing a trading outlet in Athena, the business grew successfully in sales and confidence. The business moved on after Athenas chain of shops were closed in 1995, with a range of cards called Happy Hefalumps plus an exploration into non-card products such as notebooks, wrap and social stationery. It became clear that the future lay more than in just cards and the company name was shortened to Really Good.
In 1997, a sister company, Soul, was created. While Really Good catered for fun and humour, there were so many more ideas for other looks and ranges, that a separate identity was needed.
Both Really Good and Soul have grown to include a plethora of gift products along with an increasing array of greeting cards. David says: "After so many years of designing two dimensional cards, it's refreshing to get my teeth into giftware. We have a really talented design team and there's not many companies that can do what we can do; take a concept and develop it into cards, gifts and stationery."
