Sara-Trans has the backing of parent company "SARA GROUP", leading business conglomerate owned by the Singh Family with interests in commodities, textiles, infrastructure development and ports.
Formed in 1946, it is a 100% self-financed group with verticals spanning different industries. As a market leader in a broad cross section of industries, SARA Group has always believed that owning a vision is critical to achieve lasting success. It has a vision. It is not a target of numbers, but an objective of creating a wholesome group, where its employees are empowered for success, where they attain the highest level of efficient functioning, where they deliver products and services that delight our partners and where the Group deserve to be respected as industry leaders.
The Group completing 68+ years today, have always believed in learning, changing and growing with the times.
“The company’s vision is to remain ahead in the global race for quality and establish ourselves as an "organization of the future", said D.P. Singh, Managing Director of the SARA Group, the parent company of Sara-Trans. “We are committed to delivering quality merchandise across the globe while maintaining a distinct identity on an international level by continuously improving our product range, total quality management, and customer satisfaction.”
In 1990, the Group came to be closely associated with the Music Industry - their first step. Starting with a unit of 20 machines and about 40 employees to manufacture Music Instrument Bags, their only focus was to be “Bag Crafters to the World”. Learning from customers’ and musicians’ inputs, experience and guidance, bags are crafted to suit all price bands and various customers’, Sara's bag manufacturing unit has grown to a 400+ machines and 600+ employees. Today, the bag division has been felicitated with the Highest Turnover Award for Export of Bags - 6 years in succession (by the Ministry of Commerce, Govt. of India).
As business grew, Sara-Trans further emphasized simplifying processes and demonstrating continuous improvement, which was the key to their next level. Those values are on display with improved and new manufacturing systems complete with manufacturing resource planning. The company introduced new machinery and eliminated a host of manual jobs thus improving quality, costs and operational efficiency.
Customer relationship principles and strategies along with customer considerations on top products, costs, providing buying advice and personalized worksheets, have played a pivotal role in helping the organization grow to their current level.
Taking this association forward in 1991, the Group decided to take on probably the single most ambitious project to build a market for Western music products in India. "REEMAL" - distribution arm of the Group, was born.
Although home to nearly 1.27 billion people, India has been looked on from the outside as too poor and too complex to coalesce into a significant market for name-brand gear. Inspite of all odds, the Group foresaw an opportunity and appetite for good MI gear and in 1994 by bringing in the best brands home - like Fender, Remo, Sabian, D'Addario, Dunlop, etc. opened doors to importing the biggest and the best brands of musical instruments and providing a variety to musicians across the country. It has emerged as the market leader and the catalyst that changed the future of the Music Industry in India
With a vision to expand its horizons in the Music Industry, come 2004, the parent "SARA GROUP" branched its MI division into an independent business entity and thus came into being the "SARA-TRANS GROUP", with Jasbeer Siingh at its helm.
Sara-Trans Group inherited the same principles, vision and foresight of its parent company. It recognized that consumers don’t buy musical instruments in a vacuum. They need access to quality products, retail outlets to buy from, music education to unlock their talents, and star musicians to give them something to aspire for. In a rapid and sweeping expansion, Sara-Trans Group with their vast exposure to the rest of the world coupled with jest for the industry, led to foray in Retail.
They launched one of India’s largest and most modern MI retail chain, "OnStage", a premium MI gear destination. This gave visibility and increased aspirations to own a good product amongst the consumers, it also revolutionized the MI Retail in India. "Onstage" is the one stop shop where your search for musical instruments ends but Where Music Begins.
"Our exponential growth over the years, our emotional bonds with our customers has remained the backbone of our business, and the integrity of our products is the reason for its success", says Jasbeer Siingh, Managing Director and driving force of the Sara-Trans Group. . “We believe,” says Siingh, “that to deliver quality, you have to live it, believe it, and practice it in every single aspect of your business and services.”
It is no wonder, that Sara-Trans today is looked at and is rather the most coveted distributor for any international brand that wants to enter India. Principal brands across the globe are looking at tying up with Sara-Trans to take their brand under its strong and stable wings and make it another success story.
Sara-Trans is a One-Stop-Shop for all your music needs that delivers quality and is also a "Passage to India" for any key brand to enter and make its mark there.
The Group has thus prospered due to its vision and continuously identifying new business opportunities in India and the world over.
