Since 1965, SPAL designs, manufactures and distributes porcelain dinnerware for both domestic and professional purposes, promoting design, innovation and quality as part of its corporate culture.
SPAL has all internal competences which allow developing any project from A to Z. Along with its industrial facilities, which include a fully dedicated decal production unit, SPAL also counts on SPAL Studio, the internal design department that allows developing creative solutions 100% lined up with the objectives of our clients. Also the Moulding Department brings the company great flexibility to different market needs.
Starting off with the information gathered from our clients, we always aim to produce the creative solution that best meets the requirements of each brand.
This methodology has through the years been recognized by prestigious international brands with whom SPAL has been fortunate to establish a long and consistent background – both home and hotel segments.
Being the first ceramics company to launch a design competition (in 1970) in the Portuguese market, curiously won by Daciano da Costa, also known as the founder of Portuguese design. SPAL has, since then, maintained partnerships with schools of design and materials engineering. Its in-house design department - SPAL Studio –fosters not only creativity but also research and development (R&D), which have been leading to constant innovation.
The company was also responsible for marketing collections by renowned local and international designers. Over the years SPAL has been distinguished with several awards, such as the prestigious Design Plus Award.
