Company/Brand History – Tonic Studios was established in the UK in 2001 initially focusing on the stationery / office / paper crafts and garden hand tools markets. In 2004 Tonic was approached by Design Objectives to prepare and supply a crafting tools range to be branded X-Cut. However after a few years this partnership ended and Tonic Studios decided to enter the UK market using it’s own brand which it had launched into the USA market several years earlier.
From the outset the emphasis has always been on high quality products combined with innovation at affordable prices. With an in-house team of product engineers, graphic designers and illustrators Tonic Studios is consistently growing and improvising it’s product offering into the craft tool markets around the world.
At Tonic Studios we recognise that for the crafter one of the most important aspects of paper crafting is to have a product that provides a clean cut, this means it is the most important feature for us when designing our products. From scissors and guillotines to paper punches and dies every product will have a crisp clean cut.
In the 12 years since Tonic Studios has been established the product design team has developed many products to provide additional end user utility. These include steel handles in scissors for extra strength and comfort, reworking of the blade technology on guillotines enabling the crafter to achieve a detailed hairline cut, patented geared mechanisms for the Simplicity punches enabling users to punch through 400gsm of card effortlessly, and finally the recently launched Verso dies have added extra value and more decorative possibilities than any die has ever offered before.
