aida has been setting the daily dinner table for 50 years

In 1953, when Ancher Iversen set up his company, white china was impossible to sell. As a consequence, he decided to use the post-war surplus production of white mocha cups, souvenir cups etc., which he had Danish porcelain painters decorate with gold. Later, the company grew and began trading in glass and porcelain, and ancher iversen a/s was behind many popular dinner seta, including Panorama, Anette, Svane, studio and atelier, which have been used to set tables for decades.

In 1969, Finn Maae Jensen became partner of ancher iversen a/s, and when Ancher Iversen, the founder, died three years later, Finn Maae Jensen took over 100 % of the company.

In 2002, ancher iversen a/s has completed a succession process and Peter Maae Jensen becomes managing director and principal shareholder.

In 1996 ancher iversen a/s took over Søholm, a stoneware factory from 1835 situated on the danish island of bornholm, and in 2002, the popular Désirée dinner set became part of the company’s product line.

In 2003 the company changed its name to aida (ancher iversen danmark). Today, aida is a design company striving to give its customers the highest possible value-for-money within dinner sets, glassware, cutlery, kitchen utensils and gift articles.
