AITEX is a non-profit making association established in 1985, composed by textile and related companies, whose main objective is to improve the textile companies competitiveness, promoting modernisation activities, new technologies introduction and improvement of the company and products quality.
AITEX acts on behalf of the textile and clothing industries in Spain and overseas, having a strong industrial representation. Nowadays the textile sector in Spain, as it is also happening throughout Europe, is living a particular situation, which affects the textile manufacturing processes in a huge way. In this moment, AITEX plays an important role as more than 900 associated companies and 4.000 clients trust on AITEX in order to change their manufacturing processes, to adopt new technologies, new software, toolkits and so on.
AITEX´s area of action contemplates the textile, clothing and technological textiles sectors, including fibre-producing companies, chemicals manufacturers, machinery manufacturers and companies producing any kind of textile products, as well as suppliers and organizations that use them. Thus, all the activities of sectors that include textile materials in their process are considered part of the AITEX remit. From the geographical point of view, AITEX is present all over the world and develops its activities under the following prospectus:
To develop research and technological innovation projects which help companies to increase their technological level. These projects are carried out on the Institute’s own initiative, in collaboration with companies, other research institutes and universities, or in any kind of collaboration.
To develop new lines of applied research that allow new technologies to be transferred to companies in the sector, always respecting the confidentiality agreements of the project’s results under contract with the companies. To offer advanced technical services (official approvals, tests, product certificates) that the companies of the textile sector, technical textiles and similar companies may need.
To promote diversification of companies towards other specialities that may be different from textile and clothing. To help them progress in terms of R+D+i in the industry.
To carry out a service of development of new products and optimization of processes in the textile, clothing and technical textiles companies.
To perform a task of technological training that increases the professional skills of the human resources in the companies.
That AITEX is a platform that will constantly attract the latest technological advances, and is a communication forum; for this reason, a key factor is to consider the technological observatory as a management tool in innovation.
To represent the sector in certain forums and institutions, especially in the technical field, to spread an innovative, competitive and modern image of the sector, and to act as a revitalizing agent
Transference of technology, design and maintain a vigil on technological innovations, constant research for all the innovations that take place in the textile sector and offer associates the opportunity of keeping pace with all the technologies and products that are in the market, seizing the opportunities and facing up to possible threats.
