Some interesting facts
• 1955: The first Salzburg Festival after World War II uses AKG microphones only. One microphone is even designed specifically for Herbert von Karajan.
• 1955: Hans Hass uses AKG products to shoot his first underwater sound movie, "Abenteuer im Roten Meer". The film receives the grand prize at the Biennale in Venice.
• 1973: On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the BBC, the British Post Office issues a three-penny stamp showing the BBC's standard microphones - all from AKG.
• 1991: An AKG room simulation system is used in the "Mir" space station.
• 1997: AKG wireless microphones used for the "Arctic Northeast" project of the ORF (Austrian Radio and TV) ensure optimum audio quality even at extremely low temperatures.
• 1999: Original recordings of Caruso are remixed with a live orchestra and the musicians use AKG HEARO 777 headphones.
• 2003: Bestselling author Dan Brown mentions "AKG headphones" in two of his novels, "The Da Vinci Code" and "Deception Point".
• 2006: AKG equipment provides optimum sound for the soccer World Cup in Germany.
• 2007: AKG designs a special "papal microphone" in the Vatican's colors (white and yellow) for the visit of Pope Benedict XVI to Vienna.
• 2010: AKG is honored with the TECHNICAL GRAMMY® Award.
