Anafim-Brazilian Assoc. of Musical Instrument Manufacturers
The ANAFIM (National Association of Musical Instrument Manufacturers) began its activities five years ago, due to the need a small group of companies felt of discussing, analyzing and finding solutions for the common problems and situations related to the musical instruments manufacturing.
The number of associated increased and we can say that ANAFIM represents, nowadays, most of the Brazilian musical instruments industry. Within ANAFIM’s purposes it can be highlighted:
1 - Encouraging the development of national industries related to musical instruments manufacturing on the several business, social and cultural activities.
2 - Cooperating with the growth of the market by developing programs with private and official schools by supporting teachers, musicians, bands, churches, etc.
3 - Stimulating the exports of Brazilian musical instruments, also promoting the creation of cooperatives for this purpose.
4 - Elaborating and distributing, among its associates, researches and statistics in order to better achieve the market, inside and outside Brazil.
Because of this, APEX - Brasil [Trade and Investment Promotion Agency], was hired in 2002, and after negotiations and the presentation of a project, the first pact was signed with two years validity, in August of 2003. We have just sign the third pact. These pacts will allow the exposure of Brazilian companies to the international market through fairs, buyer project, seller project, image project and others. But this exportation itself is not enough.
A lot must be done to adequate our musical instruments in order to improve exports, in the technical area (quality) as well as in the commercial aspect (beauty and presentation) and, of course, this must be done with aggressive marketing and specialized people. ANAFIM is willing to help and orientate the companies to achieve this objective and, we expect that in a near future, we will be able to have a “ Made in Brazil Musical Instruments” quality label.
