In 1923, Anton Vallet founded an enterprise for welding and soldering repairs in the German city Aachen whose range of services has soon been enlarged by the fabrication and repair of radiators.

Since 1957 Albert Haugg was in charge of the company and concentrated exclusively on the development, engineering, fabrication and distribution of heat exchangers for engine cooling and vehicle air conditioning.

The field of customers, including vehicle manufacturers, the automotive aftermarket - especially the spare parts trade - and specialized repair shops in the sector of radiators, was constantly growing and new production plants were needed: Locations in Triberg, Sulz and Marienheide (Germany) complemented the AVA-Kühler-Haugg Group.

Due to the foundation of the enterprise section AVA Cooling Systems in 1963, the company was being restructured: AVA Cooling Systems was focusing solely on the international market for engine radiators and air conditioning spare parts whereas the Haugg Kühlergruppe was putting emphasis on the production of cooling moduls for vehicle manufacturers.
Step by Step, AVA Cooling Systems, but also the Haugg Kühlergruppe itself was setting up foreign bases in other European countries .

AVA Italia SRL is the groups central distribution centre in Southern Europe, the Mediterranian countries and for the Middle East . AVA Italia SRL, formed in 1990, is in response for all customers in these regions. The headquarters are to be found in the Italian city Massa which is near to the important seaport of Genova.

Up to now, the AVA-Kühler-Haugg Group maintains five production locations in Aachen, Sulz, Triberg (Germany), Brüssel (Berlgium) and Bratislava (Slovakia). In addition seven European distribution centers are affiliated to the company: In Germany, Austria, the Netherlands, France, the UK, Italy and Denmark. The whole group employs more than 550 people.
