BDIA – WHAT WE DO
The BDIA strengthens the profession promoting it as vital part of society and economy. He works to define, promote and achieve the recognition of Interior Architects on all levels. He provides a common platform for information, communication and exchange of experience. Various service performances are offered to the members. The BDIA accompanies the education of the rising generation establishing standards together with universities and politics. He takes interest in the further development of young professionals and offers educational and professional support to his members. The BDIA corporates at european and international level with ECIA (European Council of Interior Architects) and IFI (International Federation of Interior Architects and Designers).

BDIA – WHO IS MEMBER
The membership in the BDIA is voluntary. Members are freelance or employed interior architects/designers. A membership is also possible for students of interior architecture/design as well as certified engineers of the course of interior architecture/design studies who are not registered as interior architects/designers in the Chamber of Architects. There is also the possibility for contractors/entrepreneurs to become member as supporter of the BDIA.

INTERIOR ARCHITECTS IN GERMANY
The title „Interior Architect“ is a protected title in Germany and is only available for certified engineers/ bachelors/masters of interior architecture who have at least 2-3 years of professional practice and are registered in the list of the Chamber of Architects. The interior architect/designer is a specialized planner for the inside of the architecture. Their main work pertains to restoring old buildings, and the reconstruction and the modification of existing buildings. Exhibition sites and retail projects, fair design, conceptual development for restaurants, hotels and offices are other fields of activity.
