Nearly 10000 products of the URSUS® trademark offer exiting creative designs to customers. The URSUS® trademark can be found worldwide where we also take part in numerous exhibitions and would be very happy to meet you there.. Creative papers are very impressive materials that can be used for an unlimited number of decorative possibilities. Besides the main products, we have introduced the exquisite and elegant product range "Inspiration“. These products are based upon the harmonic combination of premium materials. To people who up to now have used paper only to write, print, draw and paint "Inspiration“ offers a new world of wonderful colours and motifs to create the most beautiful designs.
The products are marketed by a number of independent sales distributors. Our customers are primarily stationery whole-salers, nursery mail-orders, companies that sell drawing, handicraft and decoration materials, fine paper wholesalers and department stores.

1820
The company founder Ludwig Bähr first appears as "Negociant" (wholesaler) for haberdashery and woollen articles in the directory for the State of Hessen "Kurhessisches Staats- und Handadressbuch". The company is based in Kassel, in the neighbourhood of the famous Grimm Brothers.
1872
A new factory and set-up of the coloured fancy paper company was built. The paper that was manufactured was mainly exported to France and England. The haberdashery business in the Marktgasse was sold off.
1901-18
Sale of the company to the authorized signatory at that time, Heinrich Barthel.
1922-23
With a team of 90 employees, production was continued mainly for the main export countries England and France. Bähr products even managed to reach China through exporters in Hamburg.
1928
The Buntpapierfabrik Ludwig Bähr brings coloured poster cardboard onto the market for the first time: a complete innovation and a long-lasting success for the booming advertising market. In addition, glacé, glossy, chromo, gold and silver papers and oat-meal papers were all produced and sold in large quantities.
1933
The URSUS® trademark that is still used today is registered at the German Patent Office.
1943-1944
The factory is completely destroyed by several bomb attacks. Aid from colleagues at the emery paper works in the nearby town of Hann. Münden enables the coloured fancy paper company to make a new start with its own staff in foreign surroundings. A small group of customers is established – the foundations for the reconstruction of the company.
1985
The URSUS® trademark is introduced successfully onto the international market.
1995
A medium-sized family business with now over 115 employees. In addition to the regular investments made in productivity, warehouses for raw materials and finished products are set up in accordance with the most up-to-date logistical requirements. Order processing, commissioning, packaging and dispatch go all hand in hand.
2001-2002
Buntpapierfabrik Bähr concentrates on product innovation and efficient methods of customer communication: Data is available to customers through EDI, discs containing all articles and an image data bank.
2003
Successful introduction of the elegant and noble product range "Inspiration" to attract new target groups.
2004-2008
Continual extension of the product range "Inspiration". Creative design with paper is becoming increasingly popular, in particular the design of greeting cards and scrapbooking. Many URSUS® materials are ideal for these trends.
