Claire Louise Designs was established in October 2003. Claire Taylor has always had a love for Textiles and Art from childhood. She gained an A for Art and A* for Textiles at GCSE level. She then went on to study a BTEC in Fashion and Textiles at Hopwood Hall College, Rochdale. She passed with a Distinction.
She sold her first design whilst still at college. Following this she was soon introduced to a bedding manufacturer, and sold two designs for bedding. This gave her increased confidence and she knew this was the career she wanted to pursue. She studied Surface Pattern at Huddersfield University for three years and gained a 2.1 BA(Hons) Degree.
Claire then went to work for two design studios, working on designs for bedding, curtains and wallpaper. This gave her valuable experience and enabled her to harness her skills further. This experience later gave her the impetus to set up her own small business of 'Claire Louise Designs.'
It all began in her bedroom at her parents house in Rochdale. She worked day and night to design a collection that she could start showing companies. Now Claire has her own house and studio in Oldham.
Claire Louise Designs is growing from strength to strength and the company now works with a wide range of UK and International based bedding, curtain and wallpaper companies.
