Collano – Innovation in Adhesives

Collano is an internationally active innovation company that with specialized adhesive systems and binders establishes new dimensions in material bonding applications. The company is headquartered in Switzerland and has subsidiaries in Germany, France, and the USA. With 330 employees worldwide, Collano generates annual sales of more than EUR 75 million. 87% of sales are generated in Europe (30% in Switzerland), 10% in North America, and 3% in the Asia/Pacific region.

Four core divisions focus their activities on markets with large innovation potential:
- Safety & Security: specialty adhesives for product forgery and
  data protection
- Medical: specialty adhesives for direct contact with skin and
  wounds
- Automotive: specialty adhesives for automotive interiors
- Building & Design: specialty adhesives and binders for
  applications in buildings (windows, doors, kitchens, plasters and
  renders, paints and varnishes)

A fifth division is responsible for the commercial and industrial adhesive markets outside the core activities. This segment comprises adhesives for the textile and nonwoven industries, adhesives for foam processors and manufacturers of composite elements such as sandwich panels for containers and light-construction applications, and adhesives for the construction and wood industries.

Collano is a member of the ICC Charta of the International Chamber of Commerce for sustainable development and endorses the principles of the International Responsible Care Program of the chemical industry. Moreover, Collano AG, Switzerland, Collano Xiro AG, Switzerland, Collano Xiro GmbH, Germany, and Collano SA, France, are certified to ISO 9001/14001. Additionally, hot melt adhesive production at Collano AG is certified pursuant to the ISO 13485 standard for medical devices.
