DEFLEXION™ technology from Dow Corning offers a range of impact-protection materials that allow for easy creation of high-performance protective apparel and equipment. When DEFLEXION™ material is impacted, the impact energy is dissipated across the surface away from the point of contact, reducing the forces transmitted through to the body.
Made from specially-formulated silicone, DEFLEXION™ technologies provide exceptional comfort enhanced fit, superior freedom of movement and, due to the unique stability of silicones, performance over a broad range of temperatures. DEFLEXION™ products are able to achieve high levels of protection when cold, hot and wet, while remaining comfortable and stylish.
DEFLEXION™ technology has become a protective textile of choice for leading active apparel designers. It is currently featured in Scott Flex, a line of back protectors for skiers, in sailing gear made by marine apparel brand Henri Lloyd for use by competitive sailors and nautical enthusiasts, and in vests made by RodeoTech for use by rodeo professionals who need freedom of movement, but powerful protection during rodeo competitions. DEFLEXION™ technology has also been featured in jackets and other protective equipment made by Rukka for use by Motorcycle riders.

DEFLEXION™ TP-Range materials from Dow Corning are available in two basic forms – solid sheets and a pre-perforated version, which is useful in apparel and other applications where a degree of breathability is required. With solid sheets, designers have the opportunity to customize perforation shapes and patterns, while the pre-perforated version offers an off-the-shelf solution. Additionally, the TP-Range can be shaped and processed in a number of ways for a wide range of applications.
